Martin:

Welcome to Tea Party Media, I am Martin Lindiscog.

Martin:

Today I will talk about new podcast apps applications and I will do a quick review view

Martin:

of 15 different application and apps for podcasting and podcasters and podcast

Martin:

listeners especially that's linked to this value for value model.

Martin:

That's one of the namespace tags in the RSS feed to extend to enhance and protect the RSS

Martin:

feed.

Martin:

And I will also talk about in a future

Martin:

episodes of the big players out there like Apple, Podcasts, Spotify and Google and others

Martin:

and comment on the situation today's situation and what could happen in the future.

Martin:

So go to new podcastappscom and check out a new podcast app.

Martin:

So I'll take a sip of tea here.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

Today I'm drinking PD tips in a tea bag and have some brown sugar, muscavado sugar in the

Martin:

cup here to get going.

Martin:

And I have a notebook that I will read from so

Martin:

bear with me if sound looking and talking at the same time.

Martin:

And I have a note card from a model 19 1727 like a message note card with the 15

Martin:

applications name here so I could remember them.

Martin:

So I've got to rattle through them here first.

Martin:

It's breeze Fountain Customatic Hypercatcher

Martin:

Pod Verse podcast guru player Pod Vizzy Ivy anytime player curecaster Pod friend pocket

Martin:

casts Albi and Kon Shacks So I'll start out here with Breeze that I found on my iPhone

Martin:

sixs plus.

Martin:

That was the first one that I think I

Martin:

downloaded.

Martin:

And they take about, like, 179 Megabyte

Martin:

Storage.

Martin:

And I have an old phone, as you know.

Martin:

So I'm looking at how it will keep up with the space here.

Martin:

And also I'm doing this test flights, I'm testing new features and so on.

Martin:

So I mean that program and back in the day it was I haven't used it so much but for now that

Martin:

you could use it.

Martin:

In this transferring bitcoin to different

Martin:

places and get ad topping up your wallet and moving it from one place to another is

Martin:

convenient and it could be also safe and to have it there.

Martin:

But before it got very hot and warm when I used it as a podcast player and also

Martin:

refreshing all the time.

Martin:

But now it seems to be working in a good way

Martin:

so I will use Breeze more and it's also something called like a POS terminal that you

Martin:

could with payment and also the different apps in the application.

Martin:

So to something called fold.

Martin:

I would be happy to start testing that out but

Martin:

I think it's only available in North America you get like a cash back or like a loyalty

Martin:

program when you pay when you get it back in bitcoin if I understand it right.

Martin:

And now I scratch with my cap here and what's more in it like Geyser found it's a company

Martin:

that I want to look into more and reach out to them and see if I could be on the show also

Martin:

talking about how you could do like a crowdfunding campaign and get support and

Martin:

donations in Bitcoin.

Martin:

So the next one is now in theory with the

Martin:

notebook it's Fountain and that is what I have been using most up till now.

Martin:

And before it took some time to do like a loading, it took time with that and also to

Martin:

search and so on.

Martin:

Now, I have cleaned up a bit with auto

Martin:

download, so it's not so much in the pipeline and also unfollowed some podcasts.

Martin:

And I will start to follow again back when I see that app is working quicker as before.

Martin:

And I have around 19,000 stats on it and I'm also on the test flight and it takes how much

Martin:

is it space right now? It was like a couple of gigabytes.

Martin:

So that's one thing that I want to decrease and I think it's like one now or something

Martin:

like that but it's still one of the applications that take most space on my phone.

Martin:

What they have done now new things is like activity feed.

Martin:

It's obvious thing to checking out what's new, what's going on, people are commenting on

Martin:

different episodes, doing clips, giving sets on the comments and so on.

Martin:

And then you have the discovery new Lightning podcasts listing and what more the categories

Martin:

could be interesting to explore more.

Martin:

I have several categories there and then you

Martin:

have the wallet, you click on the wallet with the Lightning symbol and I have earned there

Martin:

and also latest days every week like about 1000 satouches and also about the same that I

Martin:

have supported.

Martin:

So I earned about the same that I supported

Martin:

for now.

Martin:

I haven't been so active with this app now but

Martin:

I will start using it again.

Martin:

And there you have rewards, you have streams,

Martin:

you have promotions, referrals boost and like so it's lots of things going on there now I

Martin:

could check on the income tab there and shout out and thanks to Chad F user profile on

Martin:

Spotify.

Martin:

I said now on fountain shad f. And then I also

Martin:

saw Tea Party media house.

Martin:

So thanks for that supporting this podcast and

Martin:

I saw some mere mortals supporting streaming by listening with Cyclophoxol and also making

Martin:

boost to Gram and Digital Telegram and a comment with the latest episode about Liberal

Martin:

Ellis.

Martin:

And I have like four I'm following 40 and 151

Martin:

followers and I have made and created 28 clips.

Martin:

And then you see this as I said again, hot on Fountain and you could see the Bowler Boosts

Martin:

and that on the Podcasting 2.0 show.

Martin:

I think if it's like 100,000 or 200,000 they

Martin:

call it a Bowler Boost and have a special sound effect for that.

Martin:

I don't know if it's bowling or what's the name is coming from the word but I thought it

Martin:

started on a fountain at 10,000 Satushes and that's how much is that?

Martin:

We check is it like is it $2 or something like that.

Martin:

I will include Currency World in the show notes and then you could check what's the

Martin:

Bitcoin level there and the price for Bitcoin on a daily basis if you want.

Martin:

So I will take another CPT here.

Martin:

See here, this could take some time, it's

Martin:

almost ten minutes here, nine minutes and then Customatic and where it's saying that I have

Martin:

sufficient funds, not enough funds, so I have to top it up.

Martin:

And this is the thing, if you have several apps and you want to use then you have to have

Martin:

funds on different places and could you have a central place that you could go?

Martin:

Maybe that's the brief thing to do.

Martin:

And I will talk with the others here at vendor

Martin:

also and what they have is a neat feature called a leveler of auto and boost like auto

Martin:

fix.

Martin:

So depending on the volume, if you talk like

Martin:

me pretty low on the same level, you could boost that.

Martin:

And also if you are doing it like this, like the gap pause.

Martin:

So there we have this gap separate.

Martin:

So it's so called saving you time and taking

Martin:

that pause and silence.

Martin:

And that seems to be similar to Overcast

Martin:

features that I will talk about that in another episode.

Martin:

Premium wear on Overcast and has that Marko that feature about boosting your sound level

Martin:

and also speeding up your voice in like two up to two times the speed.

Martin:

But still it's sounds that you could listen to it and cast a magic is taking like 1718

Martin:

megabits of space and more.

Martin:

What more there is hypercatcher.

Martin:

They have some interesting things that you could listen to newsletters and get like an

Martin:

email from them and then subscribe to newsletters and listen to it.

Martin:

So I will check that out.

Martin:

The version is 2.228 and it seems to be one

Martin:

year ago and the app developer where I think he is blogging theirs in 2021 or maybe a bit

Martin:

later but I haven't seen any updates lately.

Martin:

So that's the status of that app if it's still

Martin:

active or what's going on.

Martin:

Another sip of tea here.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

And then we come to my new favorite Pod verse

Martin:

and I will publish the next episode will be a conversation with Mitch D. Downey of podverse.

Martin:

So the live item tag so when it's going live you get a notification in the app.

Martin:

So when you could start listening when we're doing the live streaming and send boostograms

Martin:

in real time, commenting on the content there and the conversations and I have a membership

Martin:

there like a premium.

Martin:

So I think it's 100 or 200 Swedish crowns per

Martin:

month, not per month, per year.

Martin:

And Mitch is commenting on that, talking about

Martin:

that in the conversation that we have there.

Martin:

You have Fountain, they have also premium.

Martin:

I am paying like I think it's 30 Swedish crowns per month in order to support their

Martin:

work and development and so on.

Martin:

And I'm also in this test flight program and

Martin:

it takes about right now, 17.6 megabytes.

Martin:

I like how to say the UX and the interface and

Martin:

how now you could stream sets and doing boost the grams and having this lit and live item

Martin:

tag so you could listen to podcast when you are going live.

Martin:

So more of that when you listen to our conversation and then I will do a follow up

Martin:

also with generally with podcasting apps or podcast in English.

Martin:

I've only listened and start listening.

Martin:

So then you could start creating new patterns

Martin:

with different things.

Martin:

So if you have any input on that, how you

Martin:

listen to podcast, what kind of features do you like and et cetera and so on.

Martin:

Because this is now with Live, for example, that you listen not only when you have time or

Martin:

when you're doing errands or doing other things.

Martin:

Now you want to be in interactions, so to speak, and it's going live in real time and

Martin:

being in terms of conversation and be like a coup producer.

Martin:

So that's an interesting how and I've done another episode of that like a hybrid of

Martin:

fusion of radio and podcasting how it's going into one in you could say and then we come to

Martin:

podcast guru.

Martin:

I like that very much because it's very clean,

Martin:

it's UX, it's loading fast, what I could see.

Martin:

And they have this integration with Pod Chaser

Martin:

so you could have in app reviews and also they have podcast index that you could search for

Martin:

podcast with search and discovery on region so you could pick a different country where that

Martin:

could be interesting.

Martin:

And I will upgrade to become a very important

Martin:

person, so to speak, VIP user and that's 169 Swedish crowns per year.

Martin:

And they have also this Podping notification so that's one of the great namespace tags but

Martin:

instead who said that? Think about Apple Podcast with all the

Martin:

servers, if they have to check 4 million Podcasts out there and maybe like 500,000

Martin:

active and they say they have like 2.5 million or whatever.

Martin:

3 million, maybe, if I have to.

Martin:

Check the episodes or the podcast every time

Martin:

like every minute or every hour or whenever or how many times per day if they are active

Martin:

instead of using this Pod Ping how that could save time and energy and whatnot?

Martin:

So that's something to think about that Pod Ping and then play a Pod.

Martin:

It's very interesting, I like the design of it.

Martin:

It's like this old cassette player.

Martin:

I remember was it the Pesh mode that had it on

Martin:

stage like this tape that was running.

Martin:

So they have podcasts and news.

Martin:

You could search for news podcasts and mainstream media outlets having their own

Martin:

podcasts so that could be interesting.

Martin:

And also audio and video, they have sections

Martin:

for that.

Martin:

And you could do BOOKMARKS also with pauses or

Martin:

something that you want to remember in the tape.

Martin:

And it takes about 24 megabytes.

Martin:

And I like, again, as I said, the slogan.

Martin:

Where the high fee, high fidelity audio so going on here.

Martin:

We have this and they mostly active on the web, I think.

Martin:

Nick Fair I want to have them on the show.

Martin:

Also.

Martin:

First when I did the app where it was rolling and scrolling and then it worked, but he

Martin:

talked about that.

Martin:

He has this studio that you could do chapters,

Martin:

images, adding images.

Martin:

You can have shareable links into the app when

Martin:

you're listening and also buying things.

Martin:

So it's all about there when visual things to

Martin:

add images to chapters, different sections of your episode, generating show notes and so on.

Martin:

So this studio I will come back to and see if I have already an account there or creating

Martin:

one and then talk to Nick and then it's Ivy Search and they're also on the web protector

Martin:

there.

Martin:

So you could search for different keywords

Martin:

topics, podcast names, et cetera, and you could look up guests, different podcasts, as I

Martin:

said, topics and tags, keywords, keywords.

Martin:

And it takes like 27.9 megabyte and again,

Martin:

it's mainly on the website there.

Martin:

And here is a tip to Dave Jones that said when

Martin:

I did a screenshot of my new apps, I wonder if I have somebody that app I should add or

Martin:

something I missed.

Martin:

And then he recommended me.

Martin:

Anytime, player.

Martin:

So it's made by developer called Ben Hills and

Martin:

it takes right now 40.4 megabytes and it was updated four months ago and it seems to be a

Martin:

very clean interface and easy to use app and then I will do some honorable mentions, you

Martin:

could say and that's starting out with Curecasters that's on the web, I know mainly I

Martin:

don't think I have an app yet and they have also this lit live item tag when you are going

Martin:

live and also the Sickler Fox we became featured because I sent a small donation and

Martin:

boost to grab to them.

Martin:

So he thanks for that and adding us to that.

Martin:

What I have a commentary is that this dark mode or dark background black and on text on

Martin:

white could be a bit maybe hard to accessibility and see that maybe if you could

Martin:

switch that or you could have a mode with white background and black text or dark text

Martin:

could be good.

Martin:

And as I said again, the web is the main thing

Martin:

there.

Martin:

And I think they have something.

Martin:

Is it audio or audiobooks or they have something more than podcast or ebooks.

Martin:

I don't know, but they have a different category or search thing.

Martin:

They're also on Curecaster, so I will come back to that again.

Martin:

And then the namesake or numene, as you say in swedish Martin in Denmark, Pod friend and I

Martin:

think he's working on something here.

Martin:

I don't think he has updated player for some

Martin:

time but he says in the Master Dan group there on Podcast Index social that he's working on

Martin:

things there.

Martin:

So that's something to check out.

Martin:

Also Pod friendliest podcast players that slogan is and then pocket Casts and it's owned

Martin:

by Matt Millennbags Automatic and they say that they are for this open transparent RSS

Martin:

feed and want to protect RSS.

Martin:

So that will be interesting to see how that

Martin:

could play out in the future.

Martin:

And it takes like 67.3 megabytes space there.

Martin:

I heard back in midday it was very popular by users and it's still around.

Martin:

And now we also have this Pocket Cast plus so you could have more features there and then

Martin:

Get Lb.com and that's more it's not a podcast play but with Albi they have done it very

Martin:

convenient how you could top up your wallet with Satoshi so you could then send donations

Martin:

and support to fellow podcasters.

Martin:

And they have also a dashboard that you could

Martin:

see the donations, the boost, the grams and how you are streaming Satoshi's to podcasters

Martin:

and it's value for value and name tag.

Martin:

So they have done a great work on that.

Martin:

And you also have your own, you could say, profile page when users could send you support

Martin:

and donations similar to like paypalme site for example, page.

Martin:

But I have PayPal.

Martin:

Melindascog when you have your username, I

Martin:

have Lyseum on Getalby, so it's Getalby.com is it P?

Martin:

I think it is there.

Martin:

You could then send Satoshi directly to my

Martin:

wallet there so you have it.

Martin:

And the last one is Konshak and it's similar

Martin:

to this Get LB Saturn dashboard that they have.

Martin:

And I've been talking with him on Twitter and getting the help to do this split for like

Martin:

Mitch.

Martin:

I want to send him split to divide it.

Martin:

So every Satoshi is every support or stream booster.

Martin:

I'm coming to that episode, I want to give him 50% of it or half of it, what I get.

Martin:

But he has this Get ALB address, lightning address.

Martin:

So I have to figure out how to get him into the split.

Martin:

Because when I started and hooked up my podcast up to this value for value model, I

Martin:

used first something called Stream Satoshi or Satushi Stream.

Martin:

And I had to go through like a Telegram group and adding something code, et cetera.

Martin:

And then Fountain came up about entering the scene.

Martin:

So I shifted my hook up, you could say, or being doing this Lightning thing that's now in

Martin:

Fountain.

Martin:

So that's the question.

Martin:

How you do when you add to a split.

Martin:

I think it will be easier in the future, but

Martin:

right now you have to do certain steps and getting around to get to it, but it will work

Martin:

out in the near future.

Martin:

So again, that's for now.

Martin:

I've been bubbling now doing a short review of what I'm having on my phone and also what I'm

Martin:

using on the web.

Martin:

And what are you using, which app do you use

Martin:

or do you use several apps, new podcast apps and again, your thoughts and comments on about

Martin:

the big players, where even news have happened recently with Google doing things, changing

Martin:

things, mixing things up.

Martin:

And then you wonder what Spotify is doing with

Martin:

the RSS and then Apple podcasters, what's going on there?

Martin:

And then also other apps that I'm using, as I said, like over cost.

Martin:

I know that Marcos is part of a Podcasting 2.0 initiative, so that's great to see.

Martin:

So with that about almost here now, in a half an hour, 25 minutes, I think I will end with

Martin:

another sip of tea and then say cheerio to you guys.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

Thanks for listening.

Martin:

And as I said, after I published this episode, my conversation, my interview, my talk with

Martin:

Mitch Townie of podverse will be published during the weekend if everything goes

Martin:

according to plan.

Martin:

So again, thanks for listening and check out

Martin:

new podcast apps and start using some and then test out the Boost Gram feature streaming

Martin:

status to Teapot, the Media podcast.

Martin:

Thanks again.

Martin:

Cheers.
